What does Pre-hook mean?
A section before a “hook” intended to “hook” the listener. Sometimes also known as a bridge.
Example(s) of a Pre-hook:
“I got my mind made up, come on; get in, get into it
Let it ride, tonight’s the night, yeah” (X2) – Dr. Dre, Zoom.
“They say life is a bitch
But Gucci paying cash for it
Momma stressing hard
Cause she can’t pay the landlord
I can never snitch
My family they don’t stand for it
And I wasn’t born rich
But being broke I just can’t stand for” – Gucci Mane, Stand 4 It.
