Happy 49th Birthday to Hip-Hop. August 11th, 1973.
On August 11th, 1973, DJ Kool Herc threw a back-to-school jam in the Bronx, New York & Coke La Rock (Hip-Hop’s first MC) performed. This was the night all the four main elements of Hip-Hop, DJing, Breakdancing, MCing, and Writing (Graffiti), came together.
49 years later, we are at this point!
