Platinum is a music certification used in the music industry by The RIAA (The Recording Industry Association of America).
Platinum means a song or album has sold one million (1,000,000) copies or units. For a song to go platinum or plat’ it needs to sell one million (1,000,000) copies of a single or an album. If a single or album sells 2 million + copies, it is now Multi-Platinum till it goes diamond, which is 10 million copies (10,000,000).
